Judy Annear

Rilke

the young bend their knees to the floor
they love & love again in their
loneliness each time squandering
their whole nature & living in
inexpressible fear for the
freedom of the other person
or they love & love again in
their loneliness which compels them
into their own fear of freedom
the fear that waits & pushes them
back & forth so that they sink to
the floor which receives them hard &
unyielding though they long for love
& love again in their loneliness
